The biggest paradox of love? The couple.

Sarah Bly, a New York artist, is on her way up in the hottest market there is : contemporary art. But when she meets immensely charismatic hedge-fund manager and collector extraordinaire Thaddeus Clark, she finds herself deeply in love and driven by a weird principle she dreams up – never letting him know that he has become the center of her world. Through courtship and eventually marriage, she keeps him guessing.

The desire Principle dictates that we want what we can’t have and Clark must never become comfortable in this relation.

Born in Iran and of Franco-American nationality, Saïdeh Pakravan is a writer of fiction, a poet, an essayist and a film critic. The French public discovered her in 2015 with the publication of Azadi, which won the Prix de la Closerie des Lilas and the Prix Marie-Claire.
