One of the leading specialists in Alzheimer’s, Professor Verny, presents a comprehensive overview of a disease which is affecting increasing numbers of people.

Alzheimer’s is a neurodegenerative disease which gives rise to dementia as a result of progressive lesions within the central nervous system. Although described for the first time 110 years ago by the neurologist Alois Alzheimer, there still exists no vaccine for it today or any curative treatment, and its causes have yet to be clearly identified.

In this book, Professor Verny shares precious advice with carers to help them understand the disease, spot the symptoms, monitor its evolution, know how to deal with it, inform themselves of how to get the patient cared for and of their own rights as carers, and how to manage the daily lives of the patient.
